Marker for the Horseshoe Pony Express Station and the Oregon-California Trail “river road.” The site is south of Glendo, on old US Highway 26 & 87, away from the bustle of Interstate 25 at upper left.

Glendo’s Trail Hotel is located on the appropriately named Yellowstone Highway.

The original alignment of the Yellowstone Highway ascended “Convict Hill” north of Dwyer. Pictured is an 1999 wagon train, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the California gold rush.
