The 3.2-mile-long hiking trail from Dunraven Pass to the summit of Mount Washburn is on the early loop road. Asphalt is still seen in places.

The “Corkscrew Bridge” made the steep ascent to Sylvan Pass easier. This 1919 rock and dirt fill structure replaced one made of wood.

Yellowstone’s east entrance road joined the park’s “Grand Loop Road” just west of Fishing Bridge. The bridge was closed to fisherman in 1973.
